I have a confession. I am a middle aged woman with a cousin. Not just any kind of run of the mill- see you at the next reunion" kind of cousin but, a full blown "Man I love you!" kind of cousin. and wouldn't ya know it he is a trucker.
I hold a deep soft spot for truckers, Peterbilts, gear shifts, doghouses, CB's, diesel fuel and all things on 18 wheels. I would like to introduce you to my Dad.-Dad was a trucker. I had the best Dad in the world. I know you think yours is great but my Dad was great! He was fair and strong and bigger than life. Mom and him raised 4 girls and a boy and Mom and him were married 43 years. I could not have prayed for better parents. He was always a trucker. He use to take me on the road with him and I remember each and every time we took off down the highway. It was a blast! I lost my Dad in 04 to heart failure and to say I miss him would be an understatement. I think about him everyday when I am on the interstate by all the trucks. The picture was taken when he was in his late 40's. I love the picture. I assuredly will blog more about my Dad but I get back to my cousin now.

ReplyDeletemy dad was a trucker for awhile too and I think he gave that bug to my brother cuz he became one as well and now he's in Iraq taking supplies back and forth between bases. Truckers are a special breed, aren't they?
