Best Days of My Life

I was outside a moment ago and all the sudden, I started thinking about when my mom came to stay with me after I broke my back. My mom dropped everything and from the time I landed at the hospital until about 3 weeks later when I was walking around and able to go back to work she was there.
I had back surgery last year and again, She was there from the day of the surgery until 2 weeks later.
She was there. (and again laughing are heads off)

My dad was ill in April 04 and he stayed for 14 days at the facility I was working.
Every night I would take Dad out and we would go eat or just hit the grocery store or whatever, during the day he pop into my office and lay a bag of popcorn on my desk and ask me "if I get a moment could I nuke it for him" During our excursions in the evenings Dad and I talked about EVERYTHING and I had some of the best conversations.
Dad passed away the following month at home and in his sleep.

Critter and I met in October and I remember so vividly the night in December I asked him to marry me and he said YES.

Thinking about the day my sister died and her opening my eyes to the Lord and feeling not so alone anymore.

I was thinking about the day I was decorating my daughters room 3 days before she was born and the moment I just started crying uncontrollably because I was going to be a Mom.

These are just a few of my best days.

Hope you have a good day

When did this happen?

I don't know alot of people. In fact besides my Critter I don't have a really close friend.
I mean, I know people- I go with people from work to places sometimes but, no good friend. Anyway, it's Friday night and I am home alone.
Critter went to his Mom's they had a death in their family (No, I am not close to his family-A whole other blog)
So, to get to the point.
I am home playing Farm Town and blogging and watching Dateline. (can you say multi-task?)
I am young!!!!
Shouldn't I be out causing a ruckus ?
Funny how if you don't drink you tend to stay home when the hubby is away.
When did I start acting old????

*The walls are up on the house. I couldn't really see it before but, now that all the framing is done I finally get it.
*I spent the days at Mom's yesterday. We went swimming and had a really nice dinner.
*Our power went out sometime last night and I woke up at 3am feeling like a fish in a frying pan. Power was back on by 8 so we slept until after 10. Critter never sleeps past 6am.

Do you really know your spouse?

I just thought I knew Critter.
We were just watching Antique Roadshow and they featured this bisque doll with big dark eyes.
A woman has had the doll in her closet for years and turns out the doll was worth a ton!
Critter was yelling at the woman ( yes, he yells at the TV) to put the "hainted" thing back.
Turns out, Critter is afraid of dolls with glass eyes.
My 45 yr. old Critter is afraid of dolls!!
Guess who is gonna go buy a doll and put it beside the bed?

It's probaly the heat

I am just a bit annoyed by things of a trivial nature.

People take those Christmas lights down and put the yard reindeer away. PLEASE!
(I know you think what is the point now because we are so close to Christmas.
WE AIN'T that close.!!)
People, stop blowing your lawn clippings in my yard. I know you saw me just get my yard all trimmed and pretty as I usually do on a very regular basis. (Pride in your home is what my Dad always taught me) Then here you come at 9 pm trying to cut down your 12ft tall grass that you haven't mowed in FOREVER! and you blow your clippings in MY YARD!!! Give it a rest already. It is just inconsiderate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and by the way so are all your leaves in my yard each fall!

Tomorrow is Sun. and we have a new pastor at our church.
I will be there to hopefully, hearing a sermon on how to be a better neighbor or how to be more tolerant.

have a good day:-)

I am here. Where r u???

My day started out with the purchase of yet another new tire for the dually 160.00 Yes, for ONE tire.
Headed out to the farm the hang sheetrock. Oh the fun!!! and the weather is a wonderful 103 degrees! The joy of it all.
So if Critter and I are her putting up ceilings and walls by ourselves in the bright sunshine , Where are you?? bet yall are in the cool indoors with a glass of tea. Huh????
Well, don't get all jealous if ya wanna hang some rock ya know where to come.
Have fun and STAY COOL!!!!

Farm Update

This is the bedroom. Critter put windows in today, didn't take him long. We are getting there
:-)
Critter has the most amazing talents.
Great News!! When the raiders came last month this cat had just had her kittens and we assumed the kittens were dead. Last week we heard a noise in our big barn and I thought maybe? Well, yesterday she let us see them there are 6 and all cute as can be.
We had 5 grown cats before the attack and for the last couple of days 2 seem to have gone missing.
I am hoping they are just out hanging with the boys. I know the raiders haven't gotten them because they now have a fenced yard. It is just strange because they (my cats) don't usually leave the property.

Back in the day..

WARNING! Do Not Read while eating cereal!

This one is for you Dixie-

So the neighbor tells me she was a nurse by the time she was 19. So, I figure she graduated nursing school around 1776.
When a man would get a UTI (Urinary tract infection) back in the day,the way to clear it up was to take the infected male part in your hand and at the opening insert the big syringe you have filled with ice water and flush said male part to clear the blockage.
Here is the part you use your imagination- She- (The neighbor who is playing Ding Dong Ditch) preforms the procedure in thin air as if she is preforming this procedure in my driveway on an imaginary man.
The imaginary man, we'll name him "Poor Sap" for this retelling- PS will be squirming so you have to use your nursing skills and hold him down while injecting the ice water. and to hold in place the bowl your have carefully placed between PS legs to receive the back wash.
So, now the procedure is complete and PS will hopefully be cured.
If symptoms persist repeat procedure on PS the next day.
She tells me that she was a pro at this procedure and she was the "go-to" gal if you had a UTI.
Poor Sap
Good News Fellas! They just give ya a pill now :-)

Ding Dong Ditch???

We have a neighbor in town that I'd guess is in her 80's.
We bought the house in town in 2004 and my first meeting with her, she explained to me how to flush a penis with ice cold water. (she is a retired nurse) I don't recall just how it came up in the conversation, but she went into way to much detail.
Every Christmas I bake goodies for the neighbors and every year when I deliver my gifts the same conversation comes up. She asks if we have just moved into the neighborhood and our names. ( her front door is less than a 100 yards from mine) I see her everyday walking and she sees me working in the yard etc.
So, last night the door bell rings and I go to answer it. No one there. I look down our long drive and there she is leaving my driveway.
I didn't chase her down in fear of the "penis" conversation.
I just wonder have I been the victim of a Ding Dong Ditch by an 80 yr old or was did she think the old neighbor still lived there.
HMMMMM?????

Done shopping- Prada,Versace,Jimmy Choo

I don't shop.
I own about 30 pairs of shoes all of them have mud or horsey poo on them.
I only wear 5 pieces of jewelry.
I wear colored jeans to work every day.
Yes, I am all WOMAN and have all my priorities in order :-}
Low Maintenance would be a good way to describe me.

Well, I am going shopping in the morning with my horsey friend and we are going to the store of all stores! TESKEYS!!!!!! it's about a 2 hour drive from the house.
This is the Blommies or Kitson to all horsey people.
Saddles, supplements, boots, tack, clothes, home decor, barn supplies, feed and even a great little cafe :-)))))))))) Everything a woman could want!!!!
I can spend hours in this store.
As expected we spent alot of time in the store.
If you are wondering what REAL TEXAS WOMEN do while waiting in the bathroom line here ya go-Cowgirl UP!!
Meet my horsey friend. She is super nice and seems to think I drive like a blind woman with no sense of direction heheheehehe
any way had a great time shopping and spent way LESS (I know, I am in shock too) than I thought I would.
Well happy trails
