Exploring Options.

I might have committed a small crime yesterday. I went to a vacant house and went inside.
This house would be my dream house (A history of murder is not a draw back) and I have talked to the Critter and he would also consider this option.
A large farm house on a hill with a long drive and surrounded by trees. I love it.
Move Scrappy? Aren't you building? Yes, we are but we have a glitch the property next to us sold and the man is a pompous jerk. I am wondering how this will work considering he put his "shop" right on our fence line. He is one of those "know it alls" that ya just want to smack.
Anyway, I have admired this house for a long time and rumor has it that it is for sale so the horsey friend and I went and took a look.
Early this summer a woman took her kids into this vacant house and stabbed and cut the girls throats . One daughter died there and the other survived.
The murder took place in a small bathroom and as I explained to my friend. The police after a crime do not clean up. The owner does. The owner has not and the huge amount of blood was still there.
Yes it is a horrific scene and I have nothing but compassion for those girls and their family. The fact it happened there does not attract me to the house. I am not one to seek out morbidity, It's just a great house and I think that the housing market and the history might have lowered the price on it.
So I am researching today to see if I can't find an owner.
The other thing I am doing is sitting at work with no vehicle cuz I buried the Big Dog (my dually) in the neighbors back yard this morning. Who knew the ground was still so wet that it would swallow my truck when trying to turn around.
So I guess that's another trespass crime I have committed. The neighbor house is vacant also.

On vacation starting at 5pm Headed to a huge festival in the morning The Country Reporter Festival for those of you local readers.

Have a great Day!!!!!!!!

  2. Other than the semi-recent history, the house sounds wonderful! Good luck with your search. Critter would REALLy be ok with it? He doesn't even like spook shows, right?

  3. wow--that would totally geek me out, seeing the crime scene and knowing it's a child's blood that has been taken in such a horrific way. But I'm one that believes in ghosts and spirits and the residual effect of violence in a home...I'd probably take a pass on that one--but if you don't buy into that, then I'd say go for it, because even a ghost isn't as bad as an ass for a neighbor!!

  4. I thought about going to the Country Reporter Festival... but Ricky vetoed it... seems he didn't want to drive for 4-hours to be festive... hummmmm...

the house?... Not sure I could do it, but that's why it's a good buy for someone who could... hope you find an anxious seller and a great price...

    hugs. Dixie

  5. Oh, if it's a cool house, buy it!! Living in it and making it a comfortable, happy place does no disrespect to those who died there. And you'll have a guest room for me, yes? Otherwise, we may have to revisit that bathroom...
