It started out so innocent....

Where did my lawn go? there is all this strange white stuff on the ground UGGGGHHHHH!

You see, I met this man online. (Ya Critter knows about him and I am sure his wife knows about me) The relationship has blossomed into a quick witted banter( quick wit mostly on his part)

He manages to entertain me on a daily basis on Blogger and Facebook but, mostly in the bedroom ( that's where I usually get my laptop and do all my surfing in the comfort of my bed)

Apparently, it snows alot where this gentleman lives and as you know, I do not like the cold much less snow. I made a comment to him about better him than me in the snow or something to that effect.

So,earlier this week he threw some kind of VOODOO curse this way and I shot back that it NEVER snows here (60 miles south of Dallas) and wouldn't ya know what it is doing outside today!

Granted that we Texans go into survival mode at the sign of a single flake and our snowmen look like they are something out of The Hobbit instead of big ole jolly white guys but,it is still snow and I do not care for it one bit!

So can y'all do me a favor ? If you see this man on the street could ya be so kind as to hit him with a snowball? ( I don't know if he will be carrying a fish but if he is chunk one at the fish too!)

or you could just drop by his blog and say hi and read all about this very interesting man :-)

HMMMM??? I wonder

I lived in the D.C. area and in Northern Missouri before quickly returning to my beloved State of Texas.
I have seen snow. I don't care for snow and I am wondering just why are these folks digging out their car? It does not appear to be a snowmobile and seeing how the snow is as deep as the car is tall, just exactly what kind of car is this ? Once uncovered can the car maneuver such deep snow?
Hovercraft perhaps?

A conversation online.

This is my sis and my Pickle in the pic above

So, as ya know this past weekend was Pickles birthday.
I was gonna keep it simple take her to eat then hit the bookstore and just hang out with my Pickle.
She didn't really feel like getting out in the cold so I brought her dinner in and cake and picked up a Crop Circle for her to grow.( I try every year to get her a Chia-Pet and she threatens my life if I do)
Well, She did feel like going to Tom Jones with my big sis and here is what my sis said about that.

RAE:
Nothing could beat Tom Jones. You should have seen your mother I thought she was going to take off her panties and throw them on stage
DONNA: RAE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why is she MY mother if she is taking off her undies and not OUR MOTHER??

FYI: Pickles turned 73 shhhhh!! don't tell her I told ya

Not really advise just ...

Things I have learned.
*If you have dentures DO NOT attempt to eat a ROLO (Pickles, You could have warned me) I did and for a moment I was headed toward the light.
*My eyebrows seemed to have needed less grooming but, I now appear to have a chin hair issue.
*Don't let your hubby look through your shopping bag when you get home. He will see you have purchased Cover Girl Age Defining make-up and will then sport some smart butt grin.
*Thursday I will have been married to my best friend 8 years
*Friday will mark the day that two wonderful people (Essie and Grover) got together and created one of the most beautiful, loving, caring, wise, honest, faithful, giving and cherished person I know. Happy Birthday Pickles aka Mom!
*I have been so busy at work I have not been to the farm in days and I really need my horsey fix.
*TUNA DOES VEGAS is coming to Ft. Worth and I want tickets
*One person can only accomplish so much

Like I said just things I have learned this week

Have a blessed day bloggers

Do you wanna hear about...

My job in the accounting field? Yea, thought not- I will tell you that closing year end is my least favorite thing and that I have to work all weekend and probably next one. I am so thankful to have a job in these times but really would not mind a couple days off. No, the days I took off to get my implants don't count because they were just painful.
Update: on the Ding Dong caper. Critter blamed the cats as expected :-) I have replenished my stock and hired an armed guard to watch them-Lets see him try to snag my Ding Dong again :-)
Have a blessed day bloggers!

Recovering

So I got my implants yesterday. Wow! the post in my mouth feel so weird. I stayed home today from work and have just been laying around watching movies and surfin with my Facebook peeps since yesterday. I will be back at work in the morning.

Just wanted to show you the tragedy I came across when I went to get my favorite food of all time

Yes, Someone in this house left an empty box in the pantry. Heartbreak was my immediate emotion. Why would someone be so cruel as to leave a box of false hope in the pantry??

Bathroom coming

I added this first picture late- Look at the difference in the bedroom paint color in the day from how it looks in the dark- I am LOVING this color
This was 10 months ago Critter has done an amazing job!

Man the house is a mess please excuse us -- at the end of the hall you can see the lovely blanket hubby put up to keep the bedroom sorta dust free :-)

The bathroom I am doing it around a picture my sis gave me last year and I am having heck on picking the colors The linen closet is to the right of the saw horse. The shower to the left of the saw horse and the open space on the right is the closet for the W/D (Thanks again Cleve and Lynn can't wait to hook em up)

The house

I think I am going to go with the dark brown outlets around the tile instead of the white ones that you see in the picture but staying with the lighter ones that are on the walls

The Bedroom at night I love the sconces Critter put up for me The color at night is completely different than in the daytime

Admiration

Today Meip Gies died at the age of 100.
I can't say honestly that I know much about her other than what most of us know or read about in high school. I do pray that God welcomed her home in his loving arms today.
I am going to be honest here. I wonder if I could have done what she did and risked her and the lives of her family for friends and strangers.
I want to say Yes, but would I have ??
I don't know. I think it's sad that in my heart of hearts I have my doubts.
She had no doubts.
Meip did the right thing with no question or second thought she just "DID"
I am of Polish decent and growing up and reading the history I wondered how some one could have so much hate for a person for their beliefs or their nationality that they would order the deaths of an entire race
If you think about it the Nazi regime was is not that long ago.
I have so many thoughts going through my mind and way to many to blog about but I wanted to share with you the sad news of the passing of an amazing woman who I have never met but makes me want to be as giving and loving as herself.

Round 2

OK, so I go the the cute dentist next week to start the mini-implant process.

If Dr. Cordell (located off Camp Bowie in Fort Worth) wasn't so nice and laid back and have the best staff (hint hint Amber and Jean who are sweet and reformed Farm Town Junkies) You would never be able to get me back in that chair and get all those shots again. BUT seeing how Dr. Cordell has all the above mentioned I will be heading back next week.

Bonus - Gonna take a few days off when I have it done so I can sleep late YEA!

What do ya think??

I need help!
Lord knows I don't know how to make this barn come together and look like a home so I need help and some honesty- So since I follow a ton of bloggers with great taste (ex. Deb at Talking Trash, Dixie, and a million more just look at my blog roll to see the rest of em)
The floor is dark and hope you can see the paint color. It is a small space and the only thing Critter says we must have is a big comfy leather recliner like he has now but I am getting him a new one so can yall help me???here is the couch I found at Dillard's and I am really liking it what do yall think??

Tile has been chosen!!!!!

The tile will go up to the bottom of the cabinets

That is a plank of the flooring we chose. I think that once the floor is down it will really come together

We still have to put the grout in I picked tannish color grout.
I have been thinking about how Critter and I will be moving from a large home to and 800 sq ft barn and it makes more sense everyday. Critter and I in the summer months are never inside and in the winter I guess 800 sq feet of cozy is what couples enjoy and the fact that we are doing this out of our pockets and not owe a dime for our home is really great and the one thing that I AM REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO IS LIVING IN A HOME MY CRITTER BUILT FOR US. :-)
ps. I am getting a new camera :-)
