Pickles a.k.a Mom was in the line at the drug counter to fill her prescriptions for whatever it is that a keeps a 75 year old mom in the "hottie" category. Scrappy who?

More changes...
I have a new job now :-)(Not a nursing home) I have an hour and half commute each way and I have to be up and out the door by 5:25 am but, that's OK because I love this company. I did alot of research and I know I made the right choice. Critter has been so supportive of my choices and has been great! I was a stay at home horse mom for All of Feb. and he never stopped encouraging me :-)
So, now we are getting back on track :-) and I will be back to my regular blogging
:-) and reading everyone blogs so hope everyone has a great night!
Oh yea! Warrenton is on the 25!!!!!! I am so gonna talk the Critter into to going. I had a blast last year and hope to do it again :-)

The story

Let me set the scene for ya.
I am in the bedroom.
Critter is on the couch.
Snowing and 19 degrees out.


All the sudden a loud noise (sound similar to the Hindenburg crashing) and Bitty Kitty running in the room paws up in the air and screaming something (sounded like "I have the power to knock walls down" Bitty watched the Darth Vader superbowl commerical one to many times and it gave her some ideas :-)
I then hear Critter scream "Oh Gawd, No!!"

I then go to the hallway and am now seeing a ladder in the hallway (see aftermath below)







So, we have deduced that barn cat stepped on starter on tractor and the ignition thingy was stuck so, the tractor starts and pushes the ladder that was laying on top of the sawhorses. Not only did it shove the ladder into the radiator of the tractor it put the ladder through the wall!
Critter spent the past weekend replacing the wall and he has some texturing and painting in his near future.

What do a ......

Tractor, ladder, saw horses and a cat have to do with MAJOR reconstruction of my barn home? let ya know tomorrow with pictures

Lessons in fear

It was before 6am when I got the call from Critter stating he was having chest pain and was driving to the hospital.
It was at that moment I went into a complete and total tail spin. I was still home just starting to get dressed for work. I must also tell you it was 18 degrees out and ice and snow everywhere.
As I was attempting to pull it together I was talking to Critter and trying not to panic.
I call the ER and tell them his info symptoms,allergies, insurance, and eta and get my boots on and head to the gate.
Critter has locked the gate on his way out and now I am sitting there trying to get to him and the lock won't work!
You see, Critter is my world, my rock, my friend,my hero, my Alpha and Omega.
I am now trapped behind the gate crying uncontrollably in a feeling of panic and helplessness.
I have made up my mind to drive the Volvo thru the gate.
I call my brother and then my step-son and had it not been for those two calls I would have surely panicked.
I keep trying the lock then call 911 sobbing still uncontrollably and the most caring Ellis County operator sends the Fire Dept. to cut the lock. We know the firemen and they are so kind then cut the lock told me to go on and they would make sure the farm was secure.
It was what seemed like hours later I finally I got to my Critter.
Always true to the Cowboy. Critter keeps his boots on.

He got the dye injected then snapped the pics of his heart and finished up his stress test

Critter now has big bald patches in his Critter fur

Critter checked out with a healthy heart and they think it is a reflux type thing.

Please hug the ones you love tonight and let them know how much you care because you just never know. I also want to say Thank You to all those who helped me get through this scare.
Giving all the Glory to the Lord for giving us another day.

Death took a left

I got on the freeway tonight and just as I got on the on ramp a hearse was right next to me.
I proceed at about 80 and Death was hot on my tail at 80 mph. I must say death chasing me for 20 miles was not a good feeling.


So, I decide to turn the tables on Death and chase him for about 20 miles and just when I was thinking, "Who is the idiot that chases Death?"



Death took the left exit:-)

A new journey

It is with much elation that I am happy to announce that my Bubba made it through his surgery with flying colors and so now he begins his new journey and I could not be more excited for him.
I wish you all a Happy and Safe New Year!!!

What I got for Christmas

The cutest baby ever!!!
No, just kiddin. Can you believe my nephew wouldn't let me keep her? This is Ms. RH so cute!
So, anyway guess what Critter got for Christmas.
Yes, I love a Dodge but, it ain't a Volvo:-)

I am throwing a flag on this play! Judges?

I was asking Critter about my Christmas gift, trying to get him to give up the goods ya know. He said it's in the barn. Ya, Le Volvo.
I am gonna throw a flag on this one!
How can this be my gift? I am making monthly love gifts to the bank for it. So again, I ask How can the car be my gift???? I am thinking maybe I will just wrap the electic bill and put it under the tree for him.
So, I ask you. Can the Volvo be my Christmas gift?????

Merry Christmas

The barn is lighted and we are awaiting a visit from the grandkids for Christmas. We are going to let a couple of wee ones decorate the tree all by themselves. I will put up some pics after they arrive and complete the decorations on the 18th.

He was a rescue

Little Dude aka Doodles

That Criitter bought me for our anniversary 5 yrs ago. Sunday we made the choice to put him down.
He had survived parvo as a kitten so he had seizures and he did not have the best balance but, he had a great heart and talked to me.
The past year he had gotten worse.
My kids are the same to me as yours are to you, only mine have paws and hooves but my love for them is the same as if they were human.

barn update

Here we have the bathroom with the linen door installed and as you can see a kitty door for the kids to have their privacy. The closet has it's on ventilation system inside and is vented to the outdoors.



Now, This is how Scrappy cooks dinner. You see the microwave that is Critter's Black Friday purchase more than 100 bucks off, thanks to my favorite Sears in Rockport, Texas.


OK Now I have a favor-
This is "Taz" my brother and I ask you to say a prayer for him. The cardiologist has re-scheduled his surgery until the end of Dec. He has been working for a year and has lost over 75 pounds but, he will be having a gastric sleeve surgery. They will remove 3/4 of his stomach and this is an extremely risky surgery and he has had a heart condition since birth so, it makes it even more scary. We have faith that the Lord will bring him through this and he will be fine but, if you can remember him in your prayers
