Emails between the Family re: Easter dinner and Egg Hunt and Bloodshed!

I should explain first- Rae is my sis and she usually heads up the Easter Plans. Rae and Mom live together so, when we plan family functions we always count Rae and Mom as a couple and they tend to get sensitive when referred to as a couple. We are discussing the adult Easter Egg Hunt in which a valid Health Insurance card is required!

So the players in the Email are :

Rae- My sis Age Over 40 and wayyyyyy older than me.
Amber-My niece Age 28??
JOE- Amber's Hubby
Debbie-Sister n law Age over 40
Ben- Nephew age 22
Jay- Ben's son and the only toddler
And of course any ref to Mom or MiMi would be Pickles

Rae-------
Ok, the meal at Mom's 3:30 I have ordered a spiral honey baked ham and we will have the 2nd maybe 3rd annual Adult/Children egg hunt bring your basket or bag and 2 eggs to contribute to the hunt.
Please do a reply to all so we know what everyone is bringing and who is coming.
My thoughts are ~Bread, Desserts, 2 sides and maybe a veggie/cheese tray for snacking
Tammy is sending~ for sure that a garden salad, fruit salad, and glazed mini carrots with Ben and jay on Sunday
Scrappy----
I will bring what ever yall tell me to but, more importantly WHAT R THE PRIZES?????????????????????????????????
Rae-----
Nothing major gift card, bags , cash , office supplies. I will have the rules printed out prior to the games. Do you want to bring the rolls or bread how about that bread bowl dip you make. (This is one of the three things I know how to make. )
Amber----
NO NO we do not know the prizes until we get the eggs
Scrappy-------
CASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rules???? Who needs rules????????? Yall know the drill I WIN or if by some travesty I lose yall get to hear me whine
I will bring the bread bowl dip thingy
Amber,
Please! knowing the prizes let's me know how much of yall's blood will be spilled
Rae,
Since everyone has had some health issues this year, do you want me to bring wheelchairs and walkers for yall?? LOL!!!!!! Ya know, I mean that with all the love in my heart.
Debbie-----
I think we should have the contest split up in to the older generation/handicap set – and the younger, faster generation – that seems fair
Rae-------
Ha Ha I have my own crutches Debbie make sure you bring any additional items that maybe used as "OOPS you tripped over my........"
Yes I have a few snail pace games planned but please remember this is all for the memories. Debbie don't forget your camera so we can get the film developed in the dark room. You know we love you
We will have one game that will be a lot of fun for couples or 2 people to team up as a pair. I know my partner is MOM... I have been told (Rae loves it when we call them a couple)
Amber----
You are soooo funny. Hey it's been 4 weeks I am 100% I am ready to race you sista (Amber just had surgery. She is gonna lose bad!!!) Rae,Ill give you Joe if you want and Ill take Meme really I don't mind.
Rae----
No thanks, she gives me a handicap head start and I know no one would take the 1st place from their own Mom, Grandma, Meme right.....
Debbie-----
Want to bet???????
Rae--------
OK really we have to stop my boss asked me who and why I keep laughing out loud. If this is any indication I think I should just cancel the games it is getting a little competitive. Who said Easter was for kids??
We are not elderly we are like wine better with age. I'm gonna take a swing at both of you with my cane then have Debbie run over your foot with her wheelchair

Heads on Sticks, Meeting Deb, Walking a million miles and a great day with my Critter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We headed south to Warrenton at 6am this morning on some great advice from Deb at Talking Trash and we were blown away!! Antiques and booths of all kinds for MILES Yes, MILES :-) We made it to Zapp Hall around 9:30 this morning and left late evening. We had a so much fun.

Doll heads on sticks, made into lamps, arms and legs looking for torsos, body parts everywhere Too funny and creepy all at the same time

LOOK!!!!!! Deb from Talking Trash. I had the honor of meeting her and Cat Daddy. She is so sweet. She had the most perfect piece for my bathroom but Critter said "4inches to long"
Isn't that always the problem ? We got some great ideas and have decided that Critter will be building our bathroom vanity.
(I must be squinting my eyes in this pic. or Critter was waiting till I looked really goofy, before snapping the pic. I would use another but, he only took one)

Critter says the expression on this gal reminds him of a certain someone.
I think that the fake lady laying up in the bench apparently, having had to much wine looks nothing like Pickles.

Here is Critter telling a well endowed petite plastic woman, that she has nothing on his Scrappy

Critter and this guy were swapping tuna casserole recipes (I don't think the guy was impressed with Critters take on tuna)

As you can see Critter spent the day associating with some strange kinda folks. We ate so much food it was unreal. We found a million kitchen tables we liked but, could not decide on one.
If I was not being forced to downsize we would have brought a truckload home.
We will be returning in the fall.
If you are from the parts and have been to Canton, Texas on First Monday let me tell ya - it is nothing compared to whats going on down south this week.
Have a good night yall !!!

Seems I have become an adult

So, I just fired off a Letter to The Editor of my local online newspaper regarding the plans that the cemetery that is located right off my property line in town is proposing.
I have requested to speak at the next city council meeting and express my desire not to have certain things done.
When did I become an adult and what if I still want to be a kid????

Titanic and the bathroom

We put the darker outlet covers on. I think they look better than the lighter one
Here is the picture that is giving me heck. I love the picture. It has a near black frame with gold trim. The blue is slightly lighter than navy with the inset pictures in black and white.
Any suggestions for paint color other than white? It is such a small room that I figured white would help keep it from feeling like a shoe box. Also, I am trying to figure out if the molding should be the same dark brown like the rest of the house or should I go white?

Washer and dryer go where the ladder is along with some cabinets with drawers One drawer will pull out and contain the ironing board. The closet will have bifold doorsShower to left of the window Linen closet to the right of the window The sink will go in front of Critter the toilet and shower also go on this side.

Tile has been chosen!! Part Two

After much debate or maybe, I just gave up out of frustration .
The bathroom tile shall be 12x12 white! White crown molding, white sink white walls. Rubbed bronze fixtures and a shower with white tile and rubbed bronze trim (Lord, I won't tell ya what that is setting us back) and bronze fixtures.
I am on a hunt for a cabinet for the sink. I want a dark wood. Looking at old dressers that can be modified or a new bathroom cabinet for such a purpose.
The picture I got for my birthday last year is a hard one to match. I love the picture and it is of Titanic and I had no other place for it to go other than the bathroom. I will post a picture later and maybe if yall have some ideas for me I would be happy to hear em :-)

The air condition and heating will go in this week. after that we can put the floor down then doors and finish the trim around the floor.

Critter told me last night it should be done by May 30th!!!! Can ya believe it? I am so excited!!

Someone could have been seriously hurt or worse!

Critter was putting texture on the bathroom walls today when he called to tell me we have an issue. We thought this was all cleared up last week but apparently we were wrong!
We had to move out feed barrels, hay, tools and it was at this point I was rearranging everything we just moved so, I could have a clear escape route.
My plan was to run like Forrest Gump when the **** hit the fan.
The trouble was brewing just below Critter's feet.
Do you see it?
Still moving stuff out and both of us just kinda had a bad feeling
Do you see THEM now?
We moved the skid and one ran out the barn door towards the back of the property but, this one did not run he stayed in the corner and then crawled back in the skid. We hooked a rope to the skid and drug it out the door and wouldn't ya know what the sucker did.
Yes, I am still gaging from the smell. Critter and I escaped a direct hit but I swear that thing painted all 10 acres with it's magic oils.

Before you call PETA we had no choice. We didn't want to do it.
We found one dead in the barn about a week ago and we have been getting wiffs of the putrid smell but assumed it was just after effects.
Feed and food have been disappearing at an alarming rate and the barn cats have been up at the front barn. and one of us was gonna get hit if we did not remove the problem. Once a skunk finds a feed source they take up residence.
We disposed of the body and soon the vultures did what they do best.
I feel bad for the skunk. I hope the other one does not find his way back.
Do you smell that????????????????????

Honey, I think we have a peeper!

Do you call the cops when you have this kind of peeper ? Or do you give Thanks and Praise to the Lord for giving you all the blessings and the ability to have such creatures in your life?

Row row row your boat .....

So this the rain we got today!
The neighbors(UGGHHH!!) plowed down a natural berm when they seeded their property (3 times last year and still just a field of weeds.) so between the neighbors and the county needing to dig out the bar ditch. WJ Farms has a major flooding problem!

The water was over Critter's boots when he went to feed tonight.

Standing on my road looking to the front of the property

Standing inside! the front barn looking toward the new house

Happenings and The Pickles

The 3 day walk for the cure is Nov 5-7 and I know it sounds like a long way away but in reality it is just around the corner. I got my info packet in the mail today and I am so excited to do this for those who are unable. The fundraising part will be tough but, I will meet the goal of $2300.00 (I pray)

I have in my life known many who have suffered from cancer. All types of cancer and all kinds of people. I have done nothing to make a difference. I AM NOW! I am walking for you and your loved ones. I am walking for me and my loved ones. I AM WALKING FOR A CURE! and I AM EXCITED! So bloggers if you or anyone wants to join me in Dallas Nov 5-7 give me a shout and we can do it together! :-)

I was talking to Pickles tonight and here is a excerpt of the conversation:

Scrappy- Mom, I would love for you to walk with me.

Pickles- If I could ever get over this chest congestion I might be able to walk across the yard
Scrappy- Mom, you need to go back to the doctor

Pickles- All the doctor will do is listen to my chest and say I have bronchitis. Don't worry I have been taking Metamucil this week to clear it up and I will go to the doctor next week if it doesn't

Scrappy- Mom, I really don't think that Metamucil is designed to clear your chest. Are you saying you are now having bowel trouble??

It was a this point I could not stop laughing and then she couldn't stop laughing.

A personal issue exposed

I am not a fan of public humiliation of animals but, I am posting this as a public service.
If you are considering getting a long hair cat I am here to tell you the brutal truth that their butts have long hair to!
Your cat will one day parade in front of you doing his cat swagger after just leaving the little boys room. That is when you will either faint or break out the clippers.
Dash is a long hair cat that has been shaved since he was a kitten. He is semi- OK with me breaking out the clippers and usually I can handle him with no problems but, today I needed a spotter just in case he decided to claw my eyes out after clipping around his .. well ya get the picture.

See, Look at the joy in his eyes
He loves when Critter holds him
No x-rated photos here. Tail placed strategically
His look after I said "Now, that wasn't so bad was it?"

Back in his window and Happy

Ramble On

Someone at a certain place where I spend alot of time M-F went big potty and it is now flowing down the hallway. Yea,I am so lucky to be next door to the ladies room. To quote the maintenance man "Life is like a box of chocolate ya never know what yer gonna get"

I won't even tell ya what the mannequin at work is doing at this very moment. People, People People! Yea, I might have put her in your chair while you stepped out of your office and you came back to find your replacement working away at your keyboard but I NEVER! would have done that! She is a CPR mannequin.

The other day when it snowed 10 inches here. My brother took his truck to the shop and proceeded to tell the service guy he keeps hearing a banging noise in the back of his truck when he accelerates or stops. Man at the dealership says to Mabel. " Mabel that would be all the ice sliding back and forth in the bed and there will be no charge for the diagnostic work"

Good News Back Porch cat that has been missing since Friday has returned. He has been trapped under the house the whole time. Front Porch Cat decided to hold him prisoner. We heard the wildest noise last night when we got home. I think he was telling her he was leaving her and war broke out. We played the role of liberators and now Back Porch kitty is happy and hangin out on his side of the house.
