Cost of a horse
Critter and I have 3 horses and a donkey and the cost AVG is about 200.00 a month. Ill break it down for ya
Bale of hay Avg $6-7 per bale at this time of year our kids eat about 2/3 bale a day
Last year with no rain it was $9.00 a bale
Feed $16.00 per bag for my senior horse who is fed twice a day little more than a bag a week
Grain 6.50 a bag for my other 2 horses and donkey who are grained once a day
about a bag a week (Summer feeding)
Supplements hard to avg this one about $1.75 daily every day of the year
Farrier $30 per horse plus tip (These are their pedicures) Farrier visits are every 6-8
weeks depending on growth
Wormer and Vet calls expense over the year avg about 300.00-750.00 and that is if you don't have any problems that is just shots etc.
Now these are my cost for my 3 and the donkey
Not every horse is the same and you better do your homework before you just go get one.
If you get a Senior horse like one of mine just be ready for the cost. They require much more attention.
And you have to have the room for them. I have 10 acres and sometimes I don't think it is enough room.
Not to mention tack (saddles, halters, etc)
OK now our horses just hang out and have a really laid back life at the farm. The cost for a working horse or show horse are out of this world.
So don't get a horse or any animal you cannot treat well or don't have room for Please !!!!!!!
Yes, I am still a novice to horse ownership(6 years now) but I can tell ya they are not cheap and they require attention.
I will also say there is no love like the kind your horse will return if he/she is well cared for.

7 Things I Love
Those moments in life where you drift into thoughts you weren't expecting. I am here.
I want to tell you about my sister Lisa Jean. She was an amazing woman, sister, daughter, mother and friend. She brought me to the Lord and his spoken word.
She was the kind of big sister that when you are older can laugh at all the mean things she did to ya as a younger sister or that she forgave ya after you ratted her out to Mom about her smoking or her sneaking out with her friends to go to the lake.
As you got older you went"bar hoppin" and she left you at the bar alone to go see where the fire truck went and left in the car you two rode together in to go to said bar. You again, ratted her out to Mom when you got home even though you are now 22 and she is 28. Oh yes, Mom got on to her and me for going to bars.
She is the sister that when you got home from the Army you found that she always bragged to her friends about ya and always carried your service photos in her wallet like a proud sister.
She was so many things to so many people and these are 7 things I loved about her and I have a million more but I must stop at this point and pass a message on to you from her.
Love like there is no tomorrow ! Let no person suffer in silence from domestic abuse! Never, stop helping those who are hurting and do not judge them for staying because they have lost their identity at the hands of their abuser.
I lost my sister May 26, 1996 she was only 35 she was murdered by her ex.
Even though she is gone I always think of her and she teaches me and speaks to me every day.
She will always be young and beautiful and will always speak out through me and anyone who knew her.
Still missin ya Big Sis.
Good Night
PS
Trash Talk I owe ya a list I just seemed to have gotten side tracked about things I love

Door Knob Gods
I am fairly new to the cat world.
I have owned or they have owned me for 8 yrs now.
Dash, is our yellow cat that we shave. Not only for our amusement but to keep the loose hair factor to a minimum.
He has this annoying habit of praying loudly to his doorknob god.
We have a door that we keep closed to half of our house. Apparently, Dash beliefs require him to pray to the door knob really loud 24/7.
Anybody out their in the blog world have a Cat of the same religion and can you tell me just what the heck is this about? and how do I convince him to try Buddhism or become a good Southern Baptist?
Pictured below is Dash leaving church

Earth Day Celebrations, Not so much

So the Critter and I spent the entire day cleaning up the yard and house. We took turns on the lawnmower, weed eater, pressure washer. I tell ya we are just a sharing kind of couple.
I was push mowing while he was weed eating and got tired of pushing the darn thing so I let it die and then gave him the "Honey the mower quit can you come look at it" then I run over and grab the weed eater and take of running. Then we took turns washing the outside of the house. So to celebrate the Earth freindly holiday we started every gas engine we own and let the water run for an hour while we washed the house. I think we got the meaning of the day backwards.
So I go to get the blower which you know is electric and this is where the Karma came into play. Critter has somehow managed to take all 400 feet of extension cord we own to the farm so guess who swept the 8 car driveway by hand with a broken broom to boot. Darn, Karma! Happy Earth Day!

Is this a sign?

So, I am in a bit of a mood. I am now making a list.
Do we think I might need to visit someone and talk about my feelings??
Don't ya wish you could carry the "toy" pictured in your purse and just stop all the stupidity when it starts?
Do people get on your nerves? or is it just mine all of society seems to want to jump on that last nerve?
My bay mare is also testing me and that last shred of nerve by messing with my old gelding.
The dog is even getting in on the act!
What is wrong with people and why do they feel the need to mess with me?
Why don't people have any morales anymore?
Why does my hair look like I got caught in a wind tunnel today?
Why can't we all just be honest?
I think I am moody.
Have a nice day :-)

Darn Brother and my soft heart
Guess who had the IPOD egg in their hand and handed it to her bother. Yea, that would be me "The Idiot!!!!!" When did I get so soft hearted? My brother has some health conditions and instead of knocking him into the ground and shoving him into a chain link fence as it was in the old days. I like a fool got wet and dirty getting into the bushes where he was standing and picked up the egg he dropped or so he said. People it was the IPOD egg what a fool I am!!!! or am I a sappy ole little sis with a big heart???
I did manage to win the egg on wooden spoon race by acting like a NASCAR driver when someone tried to pass me:-\ Who do you people think you are messing with????
So here is my list of prize eggs. I didn't do to hot this year. Just wait till next year!!!!!
Can of tire cleaner
Light bulb
Bubble Gum
Batteries
8.00 Wally Hell card ( I sold it for 7.00)
6.50 in cash
Gummy hamburger
Told ya didn't do to hot.
We had a good weekend on the whole and NO I didn't make it through the 10 Commandments

Traditions

Here comes Easter and the movie marathon of hours of Charlton Heston and Mr. Brenner and the wonderful line "So shall it be written, so shall it be done" I usually only make to where
Moses parts the sea. I vow to make it all the way through this year then be bright eyed and bushy tailed for Sunrise service.
We are headed to Mom's Sunday for the traditional Easter Egg hunt where if you are attending I advise you to bring your insurance card cuz this year it will get rough. The prize egg is an IPOD and yours truly does not own one so, back off people and stay home if you are uninsured or scared cuz that IPOD is MINE!
The egg hunts at Moms are just a bunch of adults (we only have one person under 20) so there are some pretty good prize eggs. This year they are throwing in a Pinata don't know just how that came in to play but I'm hoping it's filled with CASH!
I'm swamped at work and home so forgive my lackluster post of late but I promise to get back in the swing
Happy Easter see ya at Sunrise Service.

Humor vs Reality or Adult vs Child
When I am in the nursing home old and frail they will be playing Def Leppard and Pat Benatar
Yea, I am having a moment where I don't want to be the adult. I want to be a 5 yr. playing in the fall leaves.
I have just paid off the last two credit cards!!! Can you say "You Go, Girl!"
What happened to the days where you didn't know what APR meant?
I want to go back to the day when the songs I am jamming to are not on the classic rock station
Yes, there are advantages to being and adult. ---
You can have Oreos for dinner
You don't have to use change to buy gas
You learn to treasure your family and friends
---Those are the only advantages I see to being an adult
A kid on the other hand ----
The car always has gas you just have to pump it
You have to bring in the groceries from the car but you have no clue ,what they cost
April 15 has no significant meaning to you
40 is ancient to you
3 months vacation a year (where you sleep till noon)
You know every store in the mall
and on and on
This is me just thinking about tax time, getting the house on the market, getting my hair colored to hide the grey (like, I'm fooling anyone), and what I gonna get to kill the evil Fire ants in my yard!
I never thought of such things as a 5 yr old
Floor framing going on at the farm will post new pics this week
Critter has been bustin his butt!

I'm gonna be a lab rat. NOT!
Driving to work this morning I hear a ad for some kind of study for, Get this -
"Women over 40 who are surgically sterile"
It is 4 night and a day stay at the lab to be a lab rat for some kind of Frankenstein type I'm Guessing study for God only knows what! anyway, they are explaining a few side effects like weight loss that's why I thought it would be for me then they go on to talk about hair loss, loss of equilibrium and I pretty much lost all my enthusiasm then.
The great thing was $2800.00 if they pick you for the study.
Losing all my hair and what little sense of balance I do have does not seem like a good trade off. even in this bad economy.
I was then kind of disappointed that I had put about 5 min. of thought into this and realized I am not Surgically Sterile. so it doesn't matter anyway.
Have a good day!

Morning Glory
Her husband gently woke her with a kiss. He let her know it was time to rise with the morning sun.
He went to work telling her to have a good day, to be careful and not to be late for work as he exited the house at 6am.
She had a few minutes to soak it all in while still tucked in her cozy cocoon of covers.
Then her encrusted eyes opened, she saw the sun was up. The time on the clock as she focused the one good eye said 7:04.
She has to be at work at 8am and has a 20 min commute and it usually takes her an hour to get ready.
She flung herself out of bed, draws drooping, one sock hanging on for dear life and with hair stuck to her face she did what could best be described as a falling run to the bathroom.
She was at the entry to the powder room when it happened.
She stepped in fresh cat crap with her one barefoot and between the toes it went.
She was then fully awake and using words that were very descriptive.
She loving looked at her handicapped kitty with the gender crisis and whispered "Thank you, Bitty Kitty for starting my Mon. off on the right foot"
Yes, she made it to work on time!

JEEZZZZZZZ
Just what the deuce was up with my week?
Tues . I had to go tho a conference. It was one of those mind numbing ones where you listen to a speaker talk about all the fabulous regulations the state and government have come up with the new improved versions of making my life a living hell.
My best friends Dad died. My heart breaks for her because at 40 she has lost both her parents within 3 years.
My boss is not doing well. He is so frail now. The cancer is defeating him.
Thurs. My friend had a heart attack and he is having complications.
Fri. the computer at work went down.
I'm in the house cleaning today it is freezin outside.
well have a good one
