7 Things I Love

Those moments in life where you drift into thoughts you weren't expecting. I am here.
I want to tell you about my sister Lisa Jean. She was an amazing woman, sister, daughter, mother and friend. She brought me to the Lord and his spoken word.
She was the kind of big sister that when you are older can laugh at all the mean things she did to ya as a younger sister or that she forgave ya after you ratted her out to Mom about her smoking or her sneaking out with her friends to go to the lake.
As you got older you went"bar hoppin" and she left you at the bar alone to go see where the fire truck went and left in the car you two rode together in to go to said bar. You again, ratted her out to Mom when you got home even though you are now 22 and she is 28. Oh yes, Mom got on to her and me for going to bars.
She is the sister that when you got home from the Army you found that she always bragged to her friends about ya and always carried your service photos in her wallet like a proud sister.
She was so many things to so many people and these are 7 things I loved about her and I have a million more but I must stop at this point and pass a message on to you from her.

Love like there is no tomorrow ! Let no person suffer in silence from domestic abuse! Never, stop helping those who are hurting and do not judge them for staying because they have lost their identity at the hands of their abuser.

I lost my sister May 26, 1996 she was only 35 she was murdered by her ex.

Even though she is gone I always think of her and she teaches me and speaks to me every day.
She will always be young and beautiful and will always speak out through me and anyone who knew her.

Still missin ya Big Sis.
Good Night

PS
Trash Talk I owe ya a list I just seemed to have gotten side tracked about things I love

  1. Sweetie, you don't owe me a thing. Consider it paid in full! I have a dear friend who was also a victim, not physical, but mental. Her scars don't show, but they're there just the same. This post speaks volumes, but the main thing is not to judge. As Clara said once, "Don't assume I am weak. Don't assume I am stupid." Until you have lived it and seen it, you can't understand. My heart goes out to you for the loss of your sweet sister. I'll think of her and you tonight in my prayers. By sharing your seven memories, I think you have passed the award on in honorium to your sister. Is that a deal? BTW, thank you for your military service! That in itself deserves an award.

  5. How awful for her and your entire family...
But you are right to celebrate her life rather than her death.

  6. BEAUTIFUL, simply beautiful. I totally didn't see that coming and it brought tears to my eyes. And then? To read your kind words right here in the comments? Wow.

You were absolutely right about the limitation Mrs. K put on my recent blog. She didn't mention the Spouse, but she told me no Dick Breath was allowed. So...you get to make suggestions about the blog!!

And now I have to embarass myself, (like that's a rarity), and please ask you to tell me Critter's blog address. Please??

  7. What a wonderful post about your sister... My little sister is my best friend. Yes, I use to come in after curfew with a beer in my jacket pocket... pop the top in the bedroom and my sis would hiss... "Daddy's gonna hear you!"... but she never told. We didn't have a mom... so my little sister thought she was the mom...

One thing I have learned in life... people don't remember how you die... they remember how you lived... sounds like your sister still lives on, in you.

I'm so proud to have you as my 100th follower... I love your blog... and your spirit!

    God Bless... Dixie

  9. Hi Scrappy,

Sorry to hear about your sis.

And YES! THANK YOU for being a veteran.

I've been busy helping my father-in-law and mother-in-law at the farm/ranch and with their doctor appts in Dallas and Ft Worth, but I wanted you to know that I still LOVE your posts and I'm still reading them as I get the time.

This place is on hwy 380 at the Denton/Wise county line and the picture of the barn reminded me of you and Critter. I pass it at least a couple of times per week.

Good luck to you two with your place.

    I'll be in touch.
